The R.O.C.K. Project!

The Youth Music funding of the hugely successful R.O.C.K. Project came to an end in June 2026. However, activities will be continuing under the Million Hours Fund called “A Million Miles and Smiles Project

The Million Hours Fund
is funded by Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund, providing additional resources to existing projects, allowing organisation to bring extra support to young people.

We have been so grateful to the amazing support from Youth Music, which has allowed Niburu to put down even stronger foundations to support young people in our community though the medium of music. We have also strengthened ties with community partners, developing new and exciting partnerships throughout the project.

We are excited to see where these community connections may lead, and will keep you informed of new developments.

What People Say About Niburu

Niburu London has transformed my perspective on learning. The courses are engaging, and the instructors are truly experts in their fields.
– Emily Thompson

Thanks Colin, it has been most instructive and enjoyable with a good bunch of people.
– Chris Rush

What a fascinating exhibition. I have had a great morning learning about Ponders End.
Even though I was born in the area in the 1960’s and thought I knew a bit about its history, I was amazed by the new facts and personal histories and the many photos and videos. Niburu have done a fantastic job in bringing together an exhibition of previously unconnected facts and capturing personal memories before they are lost to posterity. I wish them every success in continuing this work.
– Bill Cardoza.

Niburu is brilliant, they want to give people the skills that will help them in the future.
Laurence Wegner, SWITCH Volunteer, 2020

Hi Colin

Do you realise how much you have helped these young people?
I have shared the picture I have attached of Keelam with my colleagues at college and they have said that he never smiles and they are shocked that he has displayed this characteristic.

So this is why I keep encouraging and ‘pushing them’  to fulfil their full potential.
I know you will understand this remit as someone who appreciates the humanistic approach to education.
So I am looking forward to seeing them blossom and gain qualifications on your course.

Also, I have noticed that your material says that the course is 10 sessions at 2-hours each –so that means we didn’t spot my mistake of 5 weeks at 2-hours each.
This means the sessions will finish on Thursday, 1st Feb 2017.

Just think of the value being created.  AMAZING!!!.
Thank you for everything.
Thea Charles, Tutor (North East London College) R.A.P. (Raising Aspirations Project) funded by Youth Music
